The Drive to Glacier

Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada.

A Photo Journal series from our trip to Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies.

We were on the road by 9am to start a day of driving to Glacier National Park across the border in Montana.

At 10am we stopped for more coffee and snacks in Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada.

After passing through Turner, we spied the Black Diamond in Black Diamond, Alberta (named for its coal.).

We got out to stretch our legs at the Okotoks Erratic. [11:20am]

We had a picnic lunch at the Chinook Honey Company.  They had cats. :) [11:45am]

We pulled over to try the jerky in Longview (after passing the Twin Cities Hotel and Saloon). [1:00pm]

Along the "Cowboy Trail" on Highway 22 we saw the farm with the hats on the fence posts.

We started seeing lots of windmills. [2:15pm]

We pulled into Pincher Creek for refreshments. [2:20pm]

(My backseat buddy.  I sat in the back between M and T. :))

An hour later we made it into Waterton Lakes National Park and the Prince of Wales Hotel. [3:20pm]

It was a blue-sky beautiful day of driving and exploring.  We were just a little while away from entering into Glacier National Park in Montana.
