We spent most of the week of the 4th of July with our families in Pennsylvania.
Saturday, July 2
We made the drive on a dreamy weather day (blue skies, low humidity, mild temperatures).
And stopped for ice cream on the way.
To my cousin's house for a fun reunion.
And a little birthday celebration for Beza and a few (second) cousins.
Then we drove to the cabin to settle in for the week.
Sunday, July 3
It was another beautiful morning.
That started where it left off the night before.
(The morning view down the creek.)
(And up the creek.)
(Watching a bald eagle fly upstream.)
Then we went to my parent's house for the day. It's raspberry season!
My dad always has beautiful gardens.
We snapped a family photo with 2 of my sisters.
(A belated Father's Day celebration.)
Then, because there is always something unexpected, my mom pulled out some water balloons.
She thought we would only do one round, but it was so much fun that after my dad and uncle got the first set unstuck from the hose (oops),
They started another batch.
And that was such a blast that they filled the 3rd set.
When they were all gone they started using hoses and there pretty much wasn't a dry spot in sight. :)
We also celebrated Beza's birthday with just my parents. (So many parties!)
Before talking a walk to the farm while picking wild black raspberries. (Is there such a thing as too many raspberries?)
All of the day lilies were in full bloom along the long-ago walk to the bus-stop.
T spent the end of the day with Grandpa doing projects in the garage.
I'm always thankful for fun, full days that we get to spend together at HOME. :)
