Five for the Week

A few snapshots from last week:

1. T's "Thankful Feathers" for school.

2.  His "Thankful Feast."  Delicious.

3.  Hanging out with new friends and lots of old ones.  Pipe cleaner bracelets are great for bonding. :)

4.  The button-down shirt (with sneakers) is always irrisistible.

5.  Bah!  Trader Joe's and their seasonal treats!  It's a good thing it's not close by.

Five for Last Week

(...Just a bit behind...)

1.  "Watching TV" with her buddies.  (Using the My Little Pony car controller as a remote.  And wearing sunglasses.  Of course.)

2.  When the bad guys sup.

3.  Our first snow dusting of the season.

4.  Dog-sitter lover.

5.  What I imagine puzzle boxes might look like in a badger house. ;)

Funnies: At One With The Animals

Yesterday morning, Beza called J over for help with one of her "stuffy" animals.

It appears that Cheer Bear (a little top-heavy) kept falling over.  Like this,

She then proceeded to "be" each one of her sitting animals. :)

Perceptive and hilarious. :)

Five for the Week

A few highlights.

1.  The week started with a lot of pretend camping.
It was all fun and games until one of those umbrellas knocked my coffee all over my papers. :( .  :)

2.  His outfits.  Splendidly good for the soul.
3.  Gearing up for Thanksgiving.
4.  Our shoeboxes are packed.
(I love that there are so many opportunities to teach our kids (and me) about giving during the holidays.)
At our church's packing night/chili party on Friday.

5.  Soccer is over for another season!
Welcome back Saturday mornings! :)

Happy Weekend!

Funnies: Beza Style

A New Way of Thinking
Beza is digging the book yummy YUCKY right now.  The other night we were reading it all together and we were cracking up at the faces she was making.

Mouth full of blue crayon, mouth on fire from hot sauce and eww--fish food.

Then we got to the page about yummy burgers and yucky boogers.  She imitated the picture of the finger on the nose and said, "He's saying, 'Hmm...I'm thinking.'"  (Yes, let's go with that.)

The Artist
I LOVE the people that she's drawing right now.  Two eyes, a big mouth and two arms and legs.  Simple.

Doesn't Miss A Beat
In church there are a few songs that talk about the presence of God.  Every single time she hears that phrase she shouts, "Presents!"
(She is enamored with her shadow. (What a beautiful profile.) :)

I love it when she makes us laugh. :)

Five for the Week

Halloween Week

1.  We started the week and the festivities at a neighborhood party (what a great place to live).
(A healthy ghost and look at that cute little bunny tail. :)

2.  On Thursday (Halloween) T and Beza had trunk-or-treat at their school.

3.  Halloween night came cool and rainy.  But they had so much fun.  Their favorite part?  Handing out the candy.  This year we had a hot chocolate stand outside--they loved keeping it stocked with marshmallows and cups.  (Also, they were repeat customers.)

4.  On Friday, just as M and I were stepping out of the grocery store we got stuck outside in a torrential downpour.  We were soaked all the way through.  We had 15 minutes to get home, get dry and then get to T's class for reading time (thankfully the school is practically next door!).

5.  I got my hair chopped.  I love haircuts.
I can't believe it's already November!
(Up next--getting out the winter coats and Thanksgiving decorations.)

Have a great week!

Day 31: The End :)

It has been a long full month of posting every day.  But it has been such a good practice--the stopping to find the good in every day.

This is the final post in this series.  And it has so conveniently matched up with reading Emily P. Freeman's A Million Little Ways: Uncover the Art You Were Meant to Live.  A book not about painting and singing (necessarily) but about using your own unique gifts and talents to be a positive part of the world around you.

To close, a collage of some of the art-making around me.
Finding beauty in nature, capturing the moments, folding the laundry (actually all things laundry), coloring all kinds of art with the small crew, making music, creating cozy spots, and reading together (and for learning).

(I've been loving following along with the study of this book over at (in)Courage with Bloom's Fall Book Club.  Every week there are videos with Emily discussing chapters.)

Linking up with Emily today at Chatting@The Sky.

This is the final post of the 31 Day Challenge.

Thanks for reading along! :)
