The Tea Kettle That Bought Hours

This past Saturday was a sweatshirt-wearing, yard-cleaning, outside-during-daylight-hours kind-of day.

The perfect day to spruce up the pile of dirt the small crew uses as a pirate hide-out/house/ant farm.

We added a very rough "fireplace" and brought it to life with a $4 tea kettle from an antique shop.

And tucked "pantry shelves" into the back of a tree.
(They double as an outdoor nature museum display.)

They spent hours "cooking."

(And fetching water.)

Now to add fresh mulch (it's waiting in the driveway) and a "roof."

SO excited about spring weather. :)
